It is awarded by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. DNB Radiology is equivalent to the Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Radiology, which is offered by various medical colleges in India.
The DNB in Radiology typically takes 3 years for candidates with an MBBS degree. Those who have completed a diploma in Radiology (like DMRD) can enroll in a 2-year program.
MBBS graduates who have cleared the entrance exam (NEET PG) and secured a seat through counseling can pursue DNB Radiology.
The program includes both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training in interpreting radiological images, understanding pathology, and working with imaging technology.
The training is followed by rigorous exams, including theory papers and practical assessments.
